Product description:
This Matisse poster brings a piece of French exhibition history to your wall. A dark blue, round field meets an organic leaf shape in bright blue, set against a soft pink background. The simple composition of a circle and leaf shape is characteristic of Matisse's paper cut-outs from this period. The words MATISSE and PAPIERS DECOUPES stand above the motif, while the exhibition address on Rue de l'Universite in Paris and the dates of the Berggruen & Cie exhibition in 1953 are printed at the bottom.
This combination of organic shapes and simple typography works well in a quiet corner of the bedroom, where the motif can stand on its own without taking up too much space. The poster also works beautifully as part of a gallery wall together with other motifs from the same French exhibition series. Discover the poster at Ellens.
